Every so often the crew here at Strata and Seven Stones take time out to do some fundraising for charity or voluntary work. A week ago, we shut up shop for a day to do just that.
The Trinity Centre is a key part of the South East London community, it is a Methodist Church and Youth and Community Centre. It is a safe haven where children and adults can congregate together. The Trinity centre is a registred charity organisation and is run by a group of wonderful staff who ensure that the needs of the community are addressed. Their fun activities range from music lessons, scouts, parent/toddler groups to lunch groups, dance classes amongst many others. They also found time to set up the Tryangle Domestic Violence Intervention Programme and have a dedicated team from the NHS that work with teenagers with mental health problems as well.
They give so much to the wider community we thought we could help by volunteering for the day. Armed with paintbrushes and big smiles we went to help redecorate the nursery and hallways - no small feat! When we finished at the end of the day the staff at The Trinity Centre were extremely appreciative. A job well done by all the staff.
Sometimes we need to remember to give back.
